When it comes to building dams in the Western Cape, Hantam Grondverskuiwing, operating out of Paarl, is one of the first companies that spring to mind, having been in the business since 1956. Although Hantam Grondverskuiwing is a specialist dam building company, we have built up a reputation in the earth preparation field, which includes the ripping and ploughing of vineyards.

For the past 30 years, Hantam Grondverskuiwing and Hantam Civils have been specialists in the fields of deep plowing, ripping and dam building and have also carved a sizeable niche in the bulk earthworks sector in the Cape.

The company was started by the father of the present co-owner, Jorda Steenkamp in 1956. The company was later registered in 1969, and today has a branch in Vredendal, a depot in Citrusdal, as well as doing work in Namibia.

Hierdie vooruitstrewende onderneming is in 1969 deur mrn Jabez Steenkamp op Calvinia begin., en is in Februarie 1990 deur Jorda en Jacques oorgekoop. Die onderneming se twee takke is op Vredendal en Durbanville, waar ook sy hoofkantoor gehuisves is. Die bestuur word tans deur mnr Steenkamp se twee seuns, Jorda en Jacques, behartig.

Hantam grondverskuiwings spesialiseer in die bou van gronddamme, uitstoot van riviere sowel as die diep grondbewerking vir wingerdbou in die Kaap, tot by Robertson, Tulbagh, Ceres en Upington.
